Dr. Sherry Boodram, Partner
Dr. Sherry Boodram is the CEO and Co-Founder of CannDelta. She focuses on decision-making of regulatory and compliance matters pertaining to legislation and operational efficiency, and would provide significant involvement in reviewing all deliverables, including, but not limited to, legislation and supporting operational policies. Sherry has extensive knowledge and experience in compliance and licensing submissions and approvals, international policy and regulation development, new technology compliance, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence inspections and audits, internal quality management systems and processes, facility design, operational optimization and education. Sherry has gained prominent experience over several years in the Canadian federal government, most notably at Health Canada’s Medical Cannabis and Controlled Substances Programs as a Senior Regulatory Compliance and Enforcement Officer.
Sherry is an industry leader who regularly contributes to media and speaking forums, and further supports regulated industries in Canada through her work as an elected board member for the Canadian Association for Professionals in Regulatory Affairs (CAPRA). She holds a Doctorate degree in Chemistry from York University, a Certificate in Cannabis Law and Regulation from Osgoode Hall Law School of York University, and a Graduate Certificate with Honours in Pharmaceutical Regulatory Affairs and Quality Operations from Seneca College.
Lucas McCann, PhD, Partner
Dr. Lucas McCann is the Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer at CannDelta. He provides scientific oversight and business strategy. Lucas has extensive experience assisting clients through various regulatory frameworks, including with license applications and provides clients with advice on business strategy and operational efficiencies. He has helped launch over 250 successful pharmaceutical, food, and cannabis businesses in the U.S. and Canada. An expert in regulations, Lucas has experience in all aspects of these industries, including cannabis-specific expertise in commercial cultivation, manufacturing, analytical testing and cannabis retail. Lucas acquired his regulatory experience and knowledge while working as a Specialist for the Regulatory and Operations Enforcement Branch (Health Products) at Health Canada, the regulator for cannabis and controlled substances in Canada. He is a dynamic public speaker and regularly engages with local and international media on topics relevant to the cannabis industry. Lucas has published multiple peer-reviewed journal articles and a university textbook.
Shawn Postle, PhD, Partner
Dr. Shawn Postle is a Senior Consultant and Manager at CannDelta. He provides support on decision-making as it pertains to regulatory and compliance aspects of the legislation, as well as manages the execution of deliverables, including, but not limited to, legislation and supporting operational policies. Shawn’s experience includes providing compliance guidance to clients that are navigating novel regulatory or business challenges, including providing a plethora of technological solutions to companies in regulated industries. Shawn’s cannabis expertise includes developing new business models under existing regulations or crafting altogether new regulatory frameworks in domestic and international jurisdictions. Shawn works with clients through all stages of project development, from early ideation, business planning and facility design, through to operational support and compliance strategizing. Shawn holds a Doctorate degree in Inorganic Synthesis and Catalysis from the University of Toronto.
Dario Jeginovic, Partner
Dario Jeginovic, MSc. is a Senior Consultant and Manager at CannDelta. Dario provides support on decision-making as it pertains to regulatory affairs and quality assurance aspects of the legislation, as well as support the execution of deliverables, including, but not limited to, legislation and supporting operational policies. Dario’s expertise comes from being heavily immersed in the Canadian Cannabis Act and Regulations since the release of the initial drafts to the public in 2018. Dario has managed and supported a portfolio of over 100 licensed cannabis producers in Canada and the United States and is an expert in federal licensing application preparation, compliance reporting, standard operating procedures, conducting quality and compliance audits and providing comprehensive regulatory strategy to stakeholders at various organizational levels. Dario holds a master’s degree in pharmaceutical science from the University of Toronto.
Loryn Arnett, PhD
Dr. Loryn Arnett is an Associate Consultant at CannDelta. She provides associate-level support throughout this mandate. Loryn helps clients to navigate the complex licensing process and compliance requirements in regulated industries, such as cannabis, without compromising their business goals. Loryn leverages her extensive research and analytical experience to develop regulatory compliance strategies, standard operating procedures, business plans and to prepare and review cannabis and precursor licence application packages. Loryn obtained a Doctorate degree in Polymer and Materials Chemistry from the University of Toronto, where she investigated targeted delivery of nanomaterials and worked towards their commercialization for state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic applications. Through her research, Loryn has developed a keen eye for identifying problems and realizing innovative solutions that align scientific and business priorities.
